The Lawn Squad Meet the Owners

Adam Mitchell was born and raised in Marietta, GA, and graduated from Marietta High School. He began serving the community by offering landscaping services at the age of 16 and continued for several years. Later, Adam worked for an investigations company and managed several Wolf Tan USA salons.

In 2003, Adam met Windy Rhoades at the legendary Cowboys in Kennesaw, GA. That meeting inspired him to return to his passion for landscaping and start a company with Windy. That’s how The Lawn Squad was born—our family-owned and operated landscaping company that has proudly served clients for over 20 years. The L.M.U. on our badge stands for Landscape Management Unit, and our signature slogan, “Experience the Quality,” reflects our commitment to excellence. With an owner-operator on-site for every project, we ensure personalized service and superior results.

In his free time, Adam loves the outdoors. He is an avid deer and turkey hunter, enjoys fishing, sports, and refinishing old furniture. He also treasures time with family and friends and absolutely adores his grand-dog, Dallas—aka Dal Pal!

Windy Mitchell was born and raised in Derry, PA. She graduated from Derry Area High School, where she studied horticulture, floral design, and agriculture. After school, Windy worked at several local florists and nurseries in Pennsylvania before moving to Dunwoody, GA, in search of warmer weather.

When she first arrived in Georgia, Windy worked as a bartender, server, and office manager for Horizon Limousine Service. In 2003, after meeting Adam, the idea of starting a business together began to take shape. Their shared passion led to the creation of The Lawn Squad—a family-owned and operated landscaping company that has proudly served the community for over 20 years!

In her free time, Windy enjoys cooking and baking, shopping, going to the beach, watching football and cheering for her hometown team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. She also loves getting her nails done, spending time with family and friends, and absolutely adores Christmas and decorating for the holidays!!

Blaze Mitchell was born and raised in Woodstock, GA, and graduated from Woodstock High School. He began learning landscaping at a very young age and spent his teen years working weekends with The Lawn Squad crew, installing sod, mulch, and more. During his senior year and shortly after graduation, Blaze worked at a golf course for about a year. In September 2022, he decided to join The Lawn Squad team full-time!

Blaze brings youthful creativity to the marketing side of the business and is a tremendous asset as a second-generation owner-operator present at every job site. He has a passion for rock work, dry creek beds, landscape design and installation, grading, and more. His keen eye, attention to detail, and perfectionist mindset make him an incredible addition to the company. We couldn’t be prouder that Blaze is committed to carrying on The Lawn Squad legacy for many years to come and living by our brand slogan: “Experience the Quality” as a small, family-owned and operated company.

In his free time, Blaze loves hunting deer, turkey, dove, and duck, as well as bass fishing and just about any outdoor adventure. He’s passionate about building his dream show truck and attending truck shows throughout the southern states. Blaze also enjoys playing in cornhole tournaments, softball games, and spending time with friends and family.
